Hello!

I am a non-fiction writer, poet and penner of songs. It's about that time! My first book of essays, Black Cake, Turtle Soup, and Other Dilemmas will be published by Dundurn Press in June 2024 and is available for pre-order now.

 

Some of the essays listed below are included in the book, along with many new ones.

• The Malahat Review Open Season Award for Non Fiction 2023 and has been nominated for a National Magazine Award (NMA) for Personal Journalism, 2024. The NMA winners in all categories will be announced in September!

• The Year of Jazz has been nominated by World Literature Today for the Pushcart Prize, 2023.

• Ghost was short-listed for the Queen Wasafiri New Writing Prize, 2022 

• Being included in Best Canadian Music Writing 2022 by Invisible Press is one of my proudest moments.
